The Danube (co-produced with Infernal Bridegroom Productions, 2000)

This is a collection of three short pieces performed at Atomic Café, written by Joel Orr.

The Possessing tells a story of two perfect bodies whose natural order is tainted when they are possessed by ragged, menacing heads. The bodies, designed by Katie Jackson, are tabletop style and have many mechanical gags incorporated into them. The heads, designed by Jodi Bobrovski, have prehensile tongues capable of dominating whips and seductive licks. Bobbindoctrin technical director Dennis Clay unveils his most ambitious stage to date: a mass of pillowy contours which metamorphise as the story unfolds. The movement in the piece is further expounded by a live score written by Anthony Barilla, with an arrangement incluing the sounds of a theremin, toy piano, [insert more instruments] as well as instruments built specifically for the piece. Slump's Cathy Power accompanies Barilla in the score.

Buried Within is the story of pure spirit wraiths living within the chests of crazed and devastated humans who are involved in a lethal love triangle. The stage is Bobbindoctrin's tried and true wooden nightclub puppet "hutch" with the many scorches and blood stains it has acquired over the years. The play includes cello interludes written by Anthony Barilla and performed by Amy Dorman.

The Waste Chain uses the shadow puppet stage as an aperture following a disease formed on a cellular level then passed up through the species as if a mockery of the food chain. The end result is mankind's zealous disassociation from the natural world. Silhouette and color shadow puppets are employed to tell the story.
