The Noblest of Drugs follows a day in the life of Stan, an outlaw artist
trapped in a totalitarian society where the arts are considered
as harmful as narcotics. Stan's journey represents an amalgam of
plot points and characters from Witkacy's life and plays, including
his musings on the mechanization of society, the allure of demonic
women, the weakening of the arts’ ability to inebriate and
the corollary destruction of a new generation of artists.
